TRUE NEVADANJosh Leavitt is a lifelong Nevadan, family man, and entrepreneur committed to diversifying our economy, cutting wasteful spending, securing opportunities for our community, improving education, protecting rural preservation, and moving Nevada forward. A champion for business, Josh has the know-how and resolve to end unnecessary regulations, burdens, and costs to increase entrepreneurism and accelerate Nevada businesses.
LEADERJosh has always been a true innovator and entrepreneur. He started his career in banking before serving as the CIO for Maverick Aviation Group, an exciting role where he learned higher levels of business, influence, and teamwork. After 15 years at Maverick, Josh decided to tackle new challenges. He earned a Master's in Management and Leadership Degree, became the Regional Director of Nevada for a workforce development non-profit, and started Nevada's only private post-secondary software engineering school. During that time, he served as the Vice President, President, and Chair for the Society for Information Management Las Vegas (SIMLV), leading the group in community giveback and advising our governing leaders on business and technology topics. He is currently the founder and CEO of IONnovate, a software development firm that focuses on bringing jobs to Las Vegas by making local technology talent attractive in the global market. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Intagly, an innovative online platform that helps libraries provide 3D printing services to the entire community, and the founder and CEO of Tech Alley, a popular non-profit that brings tech and startup scenes together in Vegas and Reno to share knowledge, showcase local talent, and build our Startup Community.

EDUCATION AND STEM ADVOCATEFor more than a decade, Josh has been dedicated to promoting STEM education and building career pipelines. As a community leader, he has worked with legislators and government leaders on education, technology, and workforce development policies which include non-traditional apprenticeships, technology credentials, education licensing, and access to highspeed internet. He has served on various boards and committees, including the Society for Information Management Las Vegas (SIMLV), National Center for Women in Information Technology Nevada Affiliate (NCWIT), Southern Nevada STEM Network (OSIT), CCSD, CSN, and Workforce Connection workgroups.

Josh graduated from Clark High School in 1991 and has a B.S. in Business Management and an M.S. in Management and Leaders from Western Governors University Nevada.

COMMUNITY BUILDERHe has been an active volunteer in the Las Vegas community since his youth, starting in the 80s as a volunteer for the City of Las Vegas to a present-day student mentor and community builder.

Josh is a leader in the Vegas entrepreneur ecosystem and is an advocate of Vegas innovation. He is the founder and CEO of Tech Alley, which is credited for reinvigorating the Vegas startup community, and the sponsor of Nevada's first and only registered Software Developer Apprenticeship program, where new developers receive a free college education as they kickstart their careers.

His commitment to the community is heavily influenced by his upbringing and his involvement in the Boy Scouts and the Metro Explorer program.
HOME MEANS NEVADAJosh has been married to Stacey for 28 years, a native of Las Vegas and long-time teacher at CCSD. They are blessed with two sons, both graduates of CCSD. He recognizes that Nevada needs a leader who listens to the community and will follow through on their campaign promises. He is a proud Republican committed to diversifying our economy, developing our workforce, improving education, ensuring the safety of our communities, and securing our individual freedoms.
